Over the past two months I have been working on a redesign for the publishing unit of my organization Our Daily Bread. Discovery House publishes Christian resources. We have been using the Magento commerce platform for a few years now but have been using an outdated front-end theme that was not mobile responsive. Within the past two months Google recently started penalizing a website’s page rank if it was not mobile responsive. This means that if the layout of the website does not reflow to be easily readable and navigable on different screen widths, Google search results will suffer. After a lot of collaboration with our digital design team we came up with a new design based on a theme created by Infortis called Ultimo.
